Shafiqa Sayed an Indian artist, discovered her love for art and colours during her teenage years, and has been on an artful journey since 1986. The love didn’t take much time to develop into a passion. While embarking on her colourful journey, Shafiqa took up various courses in Art, exploring all mediums that came her way. To give her love for art the professional streak, Shafiqa completed Diploma courses in Frolic, Fabric, Ceramic and Glass paintings. She also took up Private courses in Oil and Acrylic Painting under the guidance of Bharati Sagar ,Lalit Kala Parishad Award Winner in (Andhra) , State Award Winner of Seascape Spot Painting (in Vishakapatnam), Sheikh Saifi Inventor of Modern Arabic Calligraphy Font KHAT-E-SAIFI. Who has his art of Surah Fatiha in Dubai museum and Mrs. Margaret from Lebanon.
Her exclusively painted pots adorn many houses, as she dwelled in the art of Painting Pots and selling them for some time.
Her love for nature and old Arab lands can be distinctly seen in her paintings. Her nature paintings are mostly impressionists and they take you to a different world of colors and imagination. While solitude takes a meaningful level in her imagination, the business of an ancient Arab land talks about social culture of a different time. Her work in Arabic calligraphy is an extension of her creative talent.
Shafiqa Sayed currently lives in Canada. While being employed full time with a multinational corporate, she continues to accommodate time for her imagination and creativity to flow out on canvas.
